Alabama Saltwater Fishing

If you want a real Alabama saltwater fishing challenge (wait, the specialized fishing for sheepshead wasn’t hard enough for you?), you can try seeking out the elusive tripletail. While the waters are full of them, they can be very difficult to spot and even more difficult to catch. In fact, some anglers in Alabama have fished for forty or more years before ever catching a tripletail. You should note that, in spotting tripletails, you are looking for something similar to very large crappie, and they are a brownish-black color, though they tend to rest on their sides just below the surface, making them appear a bright white.

In Alabama saltwater fishing, you can certainly opt to follow the norm and fish for typical species like the kingfish, taking in your limit on a daily basis. However, if you are looking for a more enriching experience and require more unique variety, you could try a specialty fishing trip, seeking out either sheepshead or the even more elusive tripletail. Try hiring a guide your first time out to get familiar with the process and practically guarantee at least a small catch!
