Planning a fishing trip to California can be very exciting. However, there are some things you need to think about to make the trip one of the best vacations you have ever had. There are many places in California to fish so you need to think about the location. If you will be in a certain area of this great state then you make the best of the time you have there. If you are free to go anywhere though you need to look at the type of fish you want to catch. You also want to check out the regulations in California. You may be required to pay park fees or to have a fishing license in many areas.

There can be limits about the size of the fish you can keep or have to throw back. There can also be a limit onhow many fish you are able to capture in a given day at one location. There are lakes and reservoirs here for fresh water fishing. You can also use the Pacific coast for deep sea fishing and pier fishing in regards to salt water fishing.

It all comes down to what you would like. You should explore fishing reports to find out the best places for the types of fish you are after. Certain times of the year can be better than others for fishing around California too.That is why you need to know what is going on. You can’t expect to get the same results in a given area over the summer as you would during the winter months. The types of bait you use will also help you out so make sure that you have the right items with you. The type of fishing you will do also is going to affect your fishing pole and tackle. You can enjoy a very nice family fishing expedition in style this way. The weather is typically nice most of the year around California.

However, in some areas there are mountains so it does rain and it does snow. Make sure you are well prepared for the whether when you go to California for a fishing trip. You don’t want to be uncomfortable. If you are out there during the heat you need to make sure you have lots of water and sunscreen to prevent you from getting dehydrated or sunburned.

Fishing around California is good all year long too. You don’t have to try to get there only in the summer months. In fact, you may want to go in August or September when many of the fish are swimming upstream. This will allow you to be able to capture many of them. You can also

fish during the week when there will be fewer people out. The weekends tend to draw very large crowds.
