How to Pick Good Saltwater Fishing Charters

If you are unsure about finding someone in the region that you are planning to fish in, start out with a visit to the local fishing tackle shop where you are likely to find the most seasoned of saltwater fishing enthusiasts available. Talk to the locals, they are the most likely to have the information you need, based on experience!

If you like fishing, but lack the proper equipment for saltwater fishing, chartering may be the best option for you by far. Here are some simple suggestions that can make all the difference!

• Find a great captain. If you choose a captain who has plenty of practical experience, he will know exactly where the best spots for an optimum fishing experience will be. Having someone with you who can offer practical advice is a great asset when going on charter fishing expeditions. Before you ever leave solid land, be sure to meet your captain personally, and be assured that you are confident in his ability.

• Visit the docks and talk to the old timers. Locals will likely give you an earful when it comes to which captains and charters are good choices, and often they are a wealth of information, and can make your fishing experience all you dreamed it could be.
• Know for sure what is included. Be certain things like bait and tackle are included in the quoted prices. If you do not know, ask. If you do not ask, do not assume it’s included.

• Consider boat size. If you tend to get sea sick, a bigger boat will probably be better. The boat should be perfect for saltwater fishing, of course.

Always make note of any problems that you may have. Then, when planning your next saltwater fishing trip, you will be readily able to avoid those mistakes again. If you consider these tips and suggestions, you should have a good experience with your saltwater fishing boat charter!
