Florida Deep Sea

I am taking the family to Disney world for 2 weeks, but I want to get away for a weekend of deep sea fishing. Can you give me some suggestions on how to plan the trip?

There are certainly plenty of places to go. You have the option of fishing the gulf or going to the Atlantic side and fishing the Atlantic Ocean. Typically the ocean side offers better fishing but also has a bumpier boat ride and experience. The gulf side is calmer water and a more pleasurable experience, especially if fishing with your family. If you are unfamiliar with the waters and of course do not have a boat you will need a guide. There are many captains to choose from in all areas of the State of Florida. I would start by doing an internet search for charter boats in the area you want to fish. The Daytona Beach area for instance has many charters to choose from. Conduct your search thoroughly. Look at each of their home pages to see what they specialize in and see if they meet your needs. Once you have a list of prospective charters do a search of each on the internet to see if any customers have posted about their experience with each. Often this information is the best you can gain on each of the prospective charters. When you have narrowed the list down to a few charters call each of them and ask to speak with the captain of the boat. Tell him what you want to fish for and listen to his response. Each charter specializes in fishing not only for specific species but also in a specific manner. You want to match his skills to your desires to make the fishing trip a success.
